Countertops are in!

They have been mostly under wraps as the work continues around the kitchen but I had to pull back the brown paper and take a peak.

Here is a section of the soapstone in its "virginal" unoiled state.

Its really such a beautiful stone. I like to touch it. Yes, Im a stone pervert.

  2. Thank you for the cupcake/cake advice , the bakery is superb, my mother's wedding is her third and very small casual affair, nothing traditional for her, I should get started on the cake/cupcake stand soon.
    The counters are gorgeous, I really need to start saving up to have my island done over with soapstone, so that I can really use the surface for baking.

  5. Ok, seriously? You live in my head. Our taste is terrifyingly similar and I dream of the day I have soapstone counters. Gorgeous, and the patina they will develop.... Drool!
