From the tickler files...

Im sorry to report I don't have much to say in terms of home decor progress. End of summer activities have taken their hold and I have been spending a little less of my free times indoors lately. Summer is nearly over and as a football widow, I'll have a lot more time to focus on fun projects as the summer ends. Until then, some notes from my tickler files.

For anyone curious about what I decided on the bedding, I've decided to pass on the Dwell bedding at your advice. My concerns about it being too juvenile were confirmed with your comments. Im sure there is something better out there. Thanks to Chris of Just a Girl who alerted me to this bedding set from Walmart.

I dig the antique trim inspired pattern but Im not sure if I want to do black and cream in here - I feel like I need a little more blue. I could add some blue pillows but Im not sold. Opinions?

Thanks to the kind ladies at Decorpad, I was alerted to a new coffee table Restoration Hardware is selling.

Brass? Check. Two shelves? Check. Right Size? Check. It was a little bit more industrial (versus antique) than I would have wished for but I was pretty much sold once I had my 20% off coupon in hand. I was about to order it last night when I realized my coupon had expired!! So the purchase is off until I can grab another one of those discounts. $127 can do a lot of good elsewhere. So I'm sticking with my old wood one for now.

In other news, I have a new favorite blog: One Pretty Thing.
Unlike what you would expect by the name, there is a LOT more than one pretty thing featured. Her blog is the go to source for all sorts of great crafty DIY projects that she finds in blogland. She does all searching so I can just droll at all the great projects everday! I'm in heaven. Thanks Rachel!

Some projects she has featured that I'm hoping to try:

Definitely check her blog out if you're looking for a DIY fix!

  1. It's a nice bedspread, but I agree that you probably need to go the blue direction.

  2. I'm digging that RH coffee table. Absolutely gorgeous. I'll be on the lookout for comforters that might tickle your fancy.

I'm also a football/fantasy football widow, which I actually really enjoy. More me/craft time =)

  3. I like the bedspread, and it would be great for fall/winter. But I'd probably want blue myself.

  4. Awww! Thanks so much! I'm so thrilled that people are enjoying the site! I'm having a blast digging up the projects everyday, not to mention all the awesome people I've met along the way! I also have some really great new features in store. It's what I've been working on for the last few weeks so I'm pretty excited. I think people will really be into it! Thanks again for the shout out!

  7. I have a bedspread for you. Go to William Sonoma Home and look up "Greek-Key Jacquard Duvet". It looks blue-gray to me, is geometric, but sophisticated. It's new, so a bit pricey.

  8. Upstart: Thanks for the suggestion but Ive sworn off Duvet covers. Life is too short to have to reallign a internal comforter everday :)

  9. I love it because it reminds me of Calligraphy and you could always go a deep inky midnight. I love the placement and could see one of "Elliot Pukette's" coveted paintings.

I have that same bedding set & love it. I acutally put it the other way around, and have the pleating towards the bottom instead of the top.
