The best things come in small packages.

As you know, I don't ever share any of the work I do for clients here. I suspect most of them wouldn't mind it but I feel like most people are more private than me so I don't want to ask them. But I've made an exception today because these invites were created for fellow blogger - The Stamford Wife. With her permission, take a peek at the invites I made for a baby shower she is hosting.

You know how I love an invite that arrives in an unconventional way.

The old adage 'the best things come in small packages' always struck me as being perfect for baby occassions. I've used it before in different incarnations back to 2003. This time a little jewelery box opens up to reveal a colorful trifold inviting guests to celebrate. SmallPackageInvites6
Under the invite, a little treat of white jelly beans to sweeten the deal.

The box was tied with a simple navy grosgrain ribbon and mailed in white envelopes with a wrap around label.

Nothing earth shattering but a little bit out of the ordinary. They take a bit more time and money than a simple card but I like to think they are worth it. Being a long time reader of the host's blog, I have no doubt the event will be fabulous and her guests will be treated to something special at each step of the way.

For new readers, you should know I have zero objections to sharing the invites and mailings I do for my own benefit. If anything, I have a kind of odd obsession about them. In case you missed them, here are a few:

Sometimes I wish I threw more parties just for the fun of making the invites. Or I should say thinking up the invites - making the actual item over and over is distinctly not so much fun.

  1. I love it. You are so crazy creative when it comes to event invites. I need to show you the Halloween invite my sister and I did for our office some day - it's right up your alley.

  16. Love these. And all the ones tucked into the archives too. {sigh} So, if I invite you to my next party (which will probably be a little lackluster compared to the NYC scene, but the food will be FABulous and the company will be DIvine!)... can we trade invites for your next soiree too? LOL! :-)

  20. Thanks very much.

Kathy - As much as I would have loved to go to design school, I've never been. This is distinctly more my obsession than my profession.

  32. That. is. adorable. I'm in the midst of planning a friend's bridal shower and I love seeing all the different ways you do your mailings. Let's hope this friend (or any of my friends, really) decides to have babies soon so I can produce these for her. :)
