Guest Post: Erika's Blue & Brown Retreat

Today's guest post comes from Erika Ward, author of BluLabelBungalow, a blog that celebrates good design of all kinds - interiors, fashion and lifestyle. Erika also runs an interior design business and is sharing one of her client projects today.

Hello everyone! I appreciate Mrs. Limestone for giving me the opportunity to share a
Master Bedroom transformation I recently completed for a client. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section. I'm more than happy to help! I hope you love what you see..

About three years ago, a woman contacted me for help with her lackluster Master Bedroom. I was pregnant (with twins) and on bedrest at the time and unfortunately had to refer her to another designer. Who would've guessed three years later her bedroom would still look
like this...

While she managed to successfully decorate other rooms in the house, she was stumped when it came to her Master Suite. When I visited her a few months ago, she had purchased a beautiful upholstered bed from Thomasville, auditioned a few paint colors on the wall, and gave me a few ideas of the look she wanted to achieve in the space.

She also mentioned plans to sell the current home and that the furniture purchased would be used in her new home as well.

Based on our initial meeting, here's a concept/moodboard I used to communicate her vision for the room. The intent was for her to use this design and the source list I provided to furnish and decorate the room on her own.

A few days later I received a check in the mail and a letter requesting that I "just get it done"...and so I did.

My client now has a restful retreat to come home to after a demanding day on the job. I don't know how she managed to go six years in that dreadful bedroom, but today she couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

Thank you for reading and to Mrs. Limestone for having me. Be sure to also visit my blog to see what I've been up to!
