Come Away With Me Giveaway [Marrakech]

So now that I've shown you how gorgeous Marrakech was, its time for the souvenir giveaway. This is the second prize in the series (last month was bangles from India) in the series so I'm calling a tradition from here on.

Unlike last month's bangles, this souvenir is distinctly less practical. I saw it and had to bring it home with me without any particular rhyme or reason. It looks like a plain old rock on the outside but inside reveals a bit of glittery goodness. I think it would look just lovely on a stack of coffee table books or papers on a desk. I guess I'm a sucky for a surprise sparkly.

    Roses are red,
    Violets are blue.
    Nothing rhymes with Marrakech,
So this is the best I can do.

This is the one thing that I wished I had brought back as a souvenir from my trip to Morocco!  I only bought a ring...though it is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry.

  13. This is a totally selfish request -- but I'd love to see some new suggestions for framing. I have a bunch of lovely paintings done by my grandfather and no idea what to put them in.

  14. And now a joke, courtesy of  Geoff Anandappa:
"Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson were going camping. They pitched their tent under the
stars and went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night Holmes woke
Watson up and said: "Watson, look up at the stars, and tell me what you
see." Watson replied: "I see millions and millions of stars." Holmes
said: "And what do you deduce from that?" Watson replied: "Well, if
there are millions of stars, and if even a few of those have planets,
it’s quite likely there are some planets like Earth out there. And if
there are a few planets like Earth out there, there might also be life."
And Holmes said: "Watson, you idiot, it means that somebody stole our
    tent."

    I laughed, anyway. :)

Make you laugh? Ok, here's a redneck joke or dog joke - whatever you want to call it. I read it in Garden & Gun magazine.

How do you know that dog is man's best friend? Put your dog & your wife in the trunk of the car. Drive out into the middle of the woods, open the trunk & see who is happy to see you?

I can't help it, I laugh every time I hear that joke. We have a labrador retriever & she would be so excited & happy no matter the circumstance. Of course if my dh did that to me I'd be a little more than angry with him. ;o)

    Here's my dad's joke:
An old man went to the doctor.
    'I can't pee' he said.
The doctor asked 'How old are you?'
    'NInety' said the old man.
    'You've peed enough.'

What a neat rock. I totally wish that I could go travel someday.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Not too personal but not much to say either. We fly exclusively on one airline alliance and take a few big trips a year + use a credit card that earn us sweet miles. The other trips come via the free flights we earn from all that.
