Let's throw a...

...macaron party!

If I had even the faintest ability to make a billion perfect macarons or I wasn't too cheap to buy them from a proper baker, I would so be throwing a macaron tea. There is something about these little things that elevate a simple cookie into something much more posh.  Don't you think?

I think this would make a pretty adorable theme for a shower or little girls birthday party too.  If you have thrown a macaron party, you have to share it with me!

  1. It is a fun party theme. I've never tried to make them, but I have a blog friend who has been on a bit if a macaroon kick lately. http://verdantbents.blogspot.com/2013/03/tea-party.html?m=1

  2. Are they macaroons or macarons? Macarons are not THAT hard to make, really!

    1. How funny -ive spent my whole life wondering why macaroons and macarons are called the same thing when they are so clearly different. Duh - they are totally different words.

  3. I thought the same thing my entire life.... I only know now because I ordered a dozen macaroons sight unseen once from a bakery, thinking I was getting these delightful pastel lovelies...and well, ya know.

But I must say the macaroons were delicious!

    1. Even funnier is on my first trip to Paris, I didn't even try all the amazing macarons because I don't like coconut (and because macaroons are made with coconut, I just assumed they all had that flavor). Doh.

  4. Oh how I love les petites macarons! But like you, my lack of baking skills means I must pay someone a small fortune if I want to enjoy them. I had a tea party for Chloe's first birthday and the Macarons were the star of the show.

  5. Huge macaron fan here too, there's just something fun about them and the fact that they are dainty lets you get away with scoffing them in an elegant manner.

  7. Yes. These are bloggers favorite cookies I think. They're so beautiful, especially in that pastel rainbow of colors. I'd love to have a macaron tea with proper tea pots and swanky gilded teacups :)

I bought the magnets from Paper Source for my fridge, so I can stare at them all day. :) Love your blog!

  9. I love macarons and now there is a shop not too far from me that makes them. They make so many flavors it is difficult to decide.

For Easter, I gave everyone a favor of 2 macarons inside a mini egg carton. So cute!

  12. I threw a macaron themed bridal shower and I used a lot of the stuff you posted here from Paper Source. I even snagged myself one of those macaron pill boxes.

The pictures from it are on my blog's facebook page:
