Baby Smiles

For those keeping score, I took the advice of several of the comments about not bothering with a baby play mat and going with a nice cushy blanket instead. I picked this one up at the Country Living Fair.

She isn't very mobile right now so its too soon to say if it will work for us but I'll let you know.  It's definitely more than I've spent on a throw blanket before but I figure it was worth having something nice and cushy.  Based on this photo, looks like Agatha approves.
