Giveaway: Custom Wink & Winn Handbag

Monday, February 03, 2014

Between daily life, travel and having a baby, I've become quite bag obsessed the last few years.  In the quest for perfection, I've become somewhat of a handbag lover/hoarder. It has to be roomy, resistant to nyc dirt, sturdy enough to take a licking, not too heavy and of course pretty! So when Wink & Winn contacted me to see if I would want to design my own creation and give a second away, I jumped at the chance.  (Giveaway at the bottom of this post!)

winkandwinngiveawaybrooklynlimestone

Guess what arrived? I'm smitten! It's big enough to hold all of my stuff AND my camera (plus few diapers and wipes when duty calls) but so no big it looks like an overnight bag. Naturally I love the colors and leathers since I picked them out but its nice to have something I know was made just for me. In case you are wondering the specifics, here were my choices: Large Duffle in navy ostrich, white saffiano and pebble turquoise.

  3. Ooh, what I want in a handbag? I am really looking for something that is structured and will stand up on it's own (much like what you have, Stefanie) and I would like something that would hold my wallet, camera, a small bag for lotion, eye drops, nail file and a little notebook/calendar so that everything is corralled. I love your choice in style and colors! So fun!

  19. I love your design! I love a bag that is large without being overwhelming. I also gravitate towards bags that have a long over the shoulder strap that I could sling across my body, for when I need my hands free (usual for vintage shopping excursions!).

  20. You did a great job creating your own handbag - not that any of us is surprised by that! I have never heard of Wink & Winn before, but I bookmarked their page, because I really like their bags.
I find that bags with some structure and a sturdy, sold shape work best for me. I somehow get lost in slouchy bags, our rather my things seem to get lost! I've only just started freelancing as a writer this year, so now I need a bag that can handle all the things I need to take along to meetings with clients, AND it has to look professional and groomed AND fit my personality. Clearly a customized bag is the way to go!

  24. In a bag I definitely need room so I can throw in a few diapers/wipes in a pinch. Something that's easy to carry, and something that's not too big and not too small. Oh and smaller interior pockets for things like business cards, phone, hair clips, chapstick, etc.

  27. Ooh, I LOVE the way it turned out. I actually love the style you chose, as that's just about my favorite handbag style. I bought a vintage LV Speedy off ebay a year or so ago and have used it pretty much daily. But I'd like to keep it in good condition, so another bag in fun colors would be amazing! I do like having good pockets too. I actually bought a couple of matching but different color zipper bags to keep track of things like medicine/lipstick/bobby pins/etc. I have to stay organized!

A zippered pocket for change, a pouch for travel tickets, a place for my phone, a pocket for wallet, and a place to store hand sanitizer, klenex.. ooohh I like your camera idea. Most important are the straps.... they have to be able to sling over your shoulder, yet clutch like a hand bag.. to ease moving through airports!

  62. I'm honestly not too picky when it comes to bags. I go through phases of carrying a pretty wallet/wristlet, a huuuuge bag, and crossbody bags. As long as there's a pocket that's kind of separate where I can stash my phone and other oddities, I'm happy!

  83. What a fabulous idea...creating the handbag that you continually seek out season after season. FAVE's, material that holds it's shape/structure, can endure wear and tear of busy single mom and large enough to hold mom/kiddo's essentials.

  84. I need space and easy open/close options. I also love a material that can take a beating and still look good. Public transportation is pretty tough on bags.

  85. Such an awesome giveaway! I need lots of room in a handbag - I carry my LIFE around in there: makeup, snacks for two hungry boys, wallet, phone, occasionally an iPad, work files... I would love something in real leather as the faux leather one I have now is showing its age :(

  118. I have to have a strap that is long enough to go over my shoulder. If a bag has short handles that I have to hold in my hands, I'm always paranoid I'll set it down somewhere and forget to pick it back up. 140. my fantasy bag needs to have some organizational pockets....my trunk of junk is all-a-jumble! between phone and lipstick and the miscellaneous sparkly doodads to keep little sticky fingers occupied and the occasional book I just CAN'T leave behind at home (just in case the rare chance arises that I have a 10 minute pocket of free eye-time), I need space and pockets galore. A wink and winn bag would be the perfect accessory on my next trip to Cartagena!

    1. Its from Target. I really like it but the wristlet strap broke not long after I bought it which makes it a lot less functional for me. I wish I could repair it but I haven't found the right clasp.
