RIP Big Cat

You know I don't like to get too serious around here but I felt it wouldn't be right not to share this sad news.

A furry little piece of our hearts is missing as we had to say goodbye to Big Cat a few days ago. He lived a good life and his suffering was short but it's always hard letting go.  He has been a part of almost our entire adult lives so the house feels a lot emptier without him. We will miss you spidey cat.

  4. I'm very sorry that you lost your sweet furry friend, Stefanie. I know how you feel. It's a very sad time for you but maybe, after a while, you will be able to open your heart again for another sweet cat.
    Sending you a hug,

  5. Oh, Stefanie! I am so sorry! It is SO hard to lose a pet. A lot harder than one might think. I've lost a couple of dogs in my life and it's just awful. It's great that he lived a nice, long life! Almost as long as me. (I'm 1998). Sending good thoughts your way!

  17. I am so sorry for you loss.

We just said goodbye to our son's black lab - the puppy we got when he was 10 yrs old (he's now 22 & married) They grew up together. The hardest pet goodbye so far for us......it's like a piece of our son is gone as well.

  19. As a kitty mama of 3, I feel for you. So sorry to hear of Big Cat's passing. From reading your blog I can tell he had a very nice life.

  20. He looks just like my 11year old orange tabby, Flea (named by my son). We also had a tomcat we called Big Cat. He showed up at our place one day and, although never take, stayed around for years enjoying the food and, I'm sure, fathering many litters of kittens. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  21. Oh Stefanie, I'm so sorry to hear this. What's that quote about animals not needing to live as long as humans because they love so fully and completely, whereas humans need a longer time to learn those things? It was always a comforting sentiment to me whenever a pet passes.
