Sprung!

Spring is finally springing in NYC and I've suddenly had this realization (Duh!) that this will be the last season we have with Aggie as an only.  I know I'll be truly useless come end of summer but I want to squeeze in as much as possible in the next few months.

Activities like picking berries, going to Coney Island, getting showered by pink petals at the Botanical Gardens and building sand castles at the shore. What am I forgetting?

Spring is such a great time to live in New York but as a local, it's sometimes easy to forget that.  I'm going to try (this is a big ask for someone as cynical as me!) to see my city with new eyes and make the most of it.

  1. My favorite spring time ritual is the Great Saunter, which happens on the first saturday in May. I think their slogan is "see Manhattan at 3 MPH". Basically we walk the circumference of Manhattan, starting at the South Street Seaport and heading south, until we're back to where we started.

  2. Take the ferry to Governor's Island! There's a great new park there and gorgeous views of lower Manhattan, Statue of Liberty and the whole harbor. I think there's even a ferry from Brooklyn on weekends.

  3. After the new baby comes you can do all the things with both... It's so fun to watch first born's become siblings... They love to share the experiences especially holidays and outings...it's like the fun multiplies instead of divides... Of course there will be times where it's difficult but the good out weighs the bad for sure. I want spring to arrive here soon, those blossoms are beautiful.
