Then, when he started crawling, it got worse, so we bought the breathable bumpers (around $25 online from Target or Amazon). We will change over to regular bumpers once he is at least a year old most likely since he's recently decided to pull the breathable bumpers down (they attach mostly with velcro and ties).

Sigh. The book shelves look great. I think it will look right (as you said...I think they look great as it is!) when the books are on, and your baby girl won't be able to scale it like a ladder with a lower shelf. He fit in the bassinet until he was around 4 or 5 months old. Every morning, we would wheel the bassinet out of our room to the living room for naps, and then back to our bedroom for sleeping at night. This way, he gets used to sleeping in his crib from day 1 (unless you are planning to use a sidecar for co-sleeping). The choices for sheet fabric aren't great, and the Stokke brand ones are pricey, but I purchased some used ones from a seller on Craigslist and then paid an Etsy seller to custom create ones from fabric I chose. Don't spend the money to get the fancy Stokke bumpers yet......if you can, purchase the "breathable bumpers" for the first year, since regular bumpers can lead to suffocation. Once they are a year old, switch to regular bumpers.....

I am really excited to see the rest of your nursery choices!Rebekah Chownoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38356705.post-60843488063394658292012-10-03T05:06:17.728-04:002012-10-03T05:06:17.728-04:00Looking awesome! I ended up just buying a bunch of fitted oval bottom sheets in nice organic cotton and splurging on some beautiful fabric for a skirt and bumper and blanket (that we used when my daughter was older and in the bigger sized bed.) I would recommend sewing the skirt a bit shorter than you want it to make sure it doesn't get stuck in teh wheels when you roll the bed around. I had trouble with this and ended up totally resewing the skirt after about 6 months. I I would also double check that the person doing the sewing has done it before for this type of bed because I would that it was a bit harder to get everything just right and attached well compared to when I did it for a regular crib.Nicolenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38356705.post-26395864001510997782012-10-02T04:59:13.853-04:002012-10-02T04:59:13.853-04:00Not sure if you can get the book 'Where's ...Not sure if you can get the book 'Where's the green sheep'by Australian author Mem Fox to add to your book collection.
