Steal this Idea*: Layered Empty Frames

Its Friday (yippee!) - time for another Steal this Idea* feature - a tiny show of appreciation for a well executed tutorial.

You don't have to be all that perceptive to know that I am kind of a crazed fan of empty frames (see exhibit A and exhibit B) so when I saw this next project on Living with Lindsay, my heart skipped a beat.

I love, love, love it.

Using a mish mash of frames found at Goodwill...

...she made a beautiful, sculptural, conversation piece.

I am kicking myself for walking away from so many cheapo frames at flea markets because I didn't have a use for them.

Check out Living with Lindsay for all the details on this project as well as lots more!

postscript: *When I say steal, I really mean borrow nicely and give proper credit!

**If you have an idea/tutorial you would like me to consider for a feature, email me. I'd love to see!

  8. Hello.. your empty frames look really lovely. We have recently re-painted our lounge / living area and made a feature wall with frames that we made from old reclaimed wood. The aim was to have photos in them but we haven't got around to doing that just yet and the frames actually look so lovely just as they are on the wall, empty. Take a look at our blog post and let me know what you think? :)
I'll be sure to add your blog to the list of blogs I follow on my blog :)

  11. I love me an open frame or twenty, too. This is a very cool use. Love the glazing too.

  12. This might actually be pretty awesome to do with pictures in the frames, too! It might take some doing to get the frames to stay layered without disrupting the actual glass and images too much, but I think it could look really cool with some similar black and whites...
