Hung.

Check it out. I actually did something I planned to do, in the timeframe I planned. Wonders never cease.

Pretty close to the mockup, right?

Im happy with how it looks but I think it needs a little something extra to make this "vignette" complete. Not sure what - a table maybe but Im not convinced thats right either. Am I over thinking it or should I add something more? If the latter, what should I add?

  2. I could see some sort of potted house plant with vertical proportions, or even a large glass vase that sits on the floor.

  3. Stunning! I think it looks fine as is (the chair anchors the art and it looks like it brings the chair to scale now!).

Although I COULD also see a directoire table there as well. Though I know you already have one in your LR....OK, so I sorta stalk your home decor, don't be scared. =]

  4. Looks fabulous and it improves the scale of the chair - congratulations on getting it done on time. (I wonder if the lack of summer in NY is helping in this respect?)

  5. That looks great!

It does look like something else should be added, but I can't really put my finger on it. A scone on the other wall, perhaps? I'm not sure. Like Elizabeth said, a tall houseplant would probably look nice.

  6. How about a little directoire table next to the chair? Janell
Oh, I just scrolled up and saw someone else already suggested this!

  7. love it! I think a little table would be amazing there!

  8. I say a small area rug. Maybe a round or a square? Also a plant or a floor lamp. Something vertical.

They look great though! Nice choices.

  9. How about pulling the chair out a bit and putting a period floor lamp in the corner. Love the prints.

  10. I think you need something at mid-height. A floor lamp behind the chair? The prints look beautiful.

i think it looks great!!!, but it does need something mid height so there isn't such a jarring difference. I agree that maybe a funky floor lamp or a wrought iron candle stand of some sort would look good. Have I mentioned that I LOVE LOVE LOVE these prints? :-)

  12. It sounds like a standard lamp (that is what I call a floor lamp) is the favoured choice. I love your canvasses - they have worked brilliantly, xv.

  13. I was thinking small area rug or tall floor lamp behind the chair as well. Maybe not too tall perhaps one that meets the top of the bottom canvas? I dunno I usually turn to your site for design inspiration. hahaha

  14. I'm also seeing some kind of sleek floor lamp; maybe something w/ a clear/crystal-type base. I never post but I love your blog!

  15. Perfect as is! Clean and chic!

  16. Oh, I love it! So stylish. I can see a very petite demilune or side table there. You know, just a place to land your favorite mag and beverage. :-)

    Chic and lovely.

  17. Oh, wow!! :) I think it might be nice with something to give a little height, maybe a table or tall vase like the others suggested. But it really looks fab as is too. :)

  18. I would add a 2-3 foot plant- mother in laws tongue would be great- maybe in a textured basket. Or even a little garden stool.

  19. I love how it looks. How about a silver mirror leaning against the wall where the chair is? I would also add a plant next to the chair to play with some height. What do you think?

  20. The chair doesn't seem near as tiny with the prints up. I lurves it. I also scooted my bum over to the site where you had the prints made and now just have to decide what I want made up!

  21. I love this corner of your room Mrs L. The prints look fantastic and they have given the chair a whole new look.

I love the colours in here :-)

  23. I love it just the way it is : )

  24. It looks really wonderful. The black in the prints, with the b&w pillow, and dar legs. Nice :-) Umm, what does it need? how about a reading lamp, like a tent-shade floor lamp. Or a plant?

  25. I think it looks great!!

Let it evolve a little. Live with it and, if you still feel like it needs something, it'll pop out when you find it.

  27. You are the bomb....I love it! I think it's perfect as is. If I would add anything at all, it may be a larger pillow.

  28. Love it! Maybe you could add a lamp behind the chair like this?

  29. Thanks for everyones suggestions. I think a lamp would look very nicer (Mandy's and Emilys suggestion are particularily perfect in my mind) but I have no plans on sitting here to read so its sort of a farce. Its really just for quit sits while dressing.

The Directoire table is another great suggestion. I hadn't even thought of that one. I could move the one I have in the living room up here and use a different one downstairs. Genius.

Im not sure if I mentioned this in my living room posts but I sort of skeeve indoor plants. Not the little potted ones or orchids but anything big and leafy with a huge pot of dirt is not for me. Style be damned, the inside is for mammals only :)

Maybe a tall vase of dried branches/sticks/bamboo behind the chair? Agree with all the comments re: verticality.

    Hang a long skinny pendant?
