Ho Ho Ho and Xs and Os: Our Christmas Card

So you already know we do things a little differently for our Christmas cards. We send out a small surprise along with the greeting - from dish towels to pez dispensers to lotto tickets - we like to mix it up. I start thinking up ideas long before it gets cold (and if you are wondering, I already have an idea for next year!) Despite having it all mapped out in my mind forever, I seem to wait until the last possible minute to get going on them each year. I guess I like to torture myself.

As you can see, we attached my favorite lip balm to a card that reads:

Be Ready
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and many tender moments under the mistletoe
this year and forever. ♥ Stefanie and Luke

I don't know about you but winter means loading up the chapstick and having it everywhere. A tube in my purse, my nightstand, the junk drawer, my coat pocket, etc. So I thought this was the perfect little practical item to find in the mailbox.

  30. What a great idea...Im always one for giving little gifts but never thought of it for a holiday card. Love the lip balm idea...we def have a bunch of tubes, cylinders and sticks in this house. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

  34. Very creative. I wish that I could watch you actually create one of your beautiful papergoods. Maybe you could vlog a future project(or part of it at least, I'm sure it takes hours). I have no experience with that, but would love to learn.

  55. I'm way late with this question, but how did you mail them? It looks like a regular envelope, maybe in the background. Do you just write "hand cancel" on the front of the envelope? Or just send as is and let the USPS figure it out?!

  56. Love this idea. Next year I am going to send out lucky fish fortune tellers (remember those?!?!) with cards. I didn't think of the idea early enough to execute it this year. The lotto tickets are clever, too.
