Eternal Rest Hotel Key Fobs | Halloween Invitations

With Halloween on a Tuesday (boo!) and all of us having school/work the following day, we are toning down this year's party quite a bit. Think candy crazed kids running around my living room and you'll have a good idea. But I couldn't resist sending a proper invitation just the same.

Since this year's theme was a haunted hotel, we sent out skeleton keys with a custom hotel style key fob and key folio. Party details are printed on the reverse side.

I had the key fobs printed online using my design and I made the folios on my home printer and stuffed the whole thing into a kraft paper button & string envelope with a little Spanish moss for effect.

I'm not sure quite sure how it measures up to prior years but I'm happy they are in the mail.  Which ones were your favorites?

  1. You have more talent in your baby finger than I could ever imagine having in my entire life! I am so in awe of your skills and creativity! I asked earlier... do you have a giant basement to store your seasonal decor in? (Not to mention an unlimited budget..) #Iamyourbiggestfan!

    1. Thank you Kim!

If you look at most of my decorations, I reuse a lot of the same items year over year and/or I DIY items that get recycled after being outside for a month. I have almost no storage space so I have to be efficient but we do have a space under the basement stairs that is literally filled with skeletons 😜

  2. These are perfect - I'm honestly so impressed you are still finding the time to go to such elaborate lengths for Halloween decor with 2 little ones - it's obvious how much you enjoy this holiday! They will grow up adoring it as well.

    1. Thanks Kayla.

My efforts are definitely scaled back now with 2 kids but I still like to make my favorite holidays a little special. Hopefully I’ll have 2 helpers as they get older.

  5. Oh, the fun you must have creating these All Hallow's Eve experiences for your friends and family! My favorites have always been the invitations as that is how you tease your guests with the mood and anticipation, and this year they are just as clever as always. I think the 'Haunted Hotel' theme lends a little sophistcation to the fun and I'm sure guests will want to book again. ;-). By the way, would you mind sharing a little more about the key fobs (where you got them, which printer you used, where the keys can be purchased)? They are so well done.

    1. Thanks!

The key fobs were ordered online. I was a bit last minute so my choices were more limited - I used a company called Sanzo - but there are several companies that offer these with variable turn around times if you provide the design.

I bought these skeleton keys from amazon but that’s also because I was late. You can find them on eBay or at flea markets as well.

      Hope that helps.

These are amazing! I am doing a similar theme for a Halloween party I am hosting this year. May I ask, the other side of the key fobs, where the party details are, is that party engraved as well? If not, would you share what materials you used for the party details. Thanks in advance.
