Do you tweet?

Im feeling a little bit older than I normally do (and that says a lot for someone who has a Snuggie!) because I really don't get Twitter. It seems like facebook but without the photo updates. And my favorite part of facebook is the photos!

But if its good enough for Oprah and Ashton, who am I to poo-poo it? The word "tweet" is rather fun to say. Tweet. Tweet. Tweet. And damn it if that little bird isn't just adorable. I guess I'm a sucker for marketing.

Rather than ignoring it for any longer, I signed up. So now what?

  1. I do not tweet , I don't get it , it sounds like a time waster that I do not need to add to my list, it sounds like facebook status updates to me , still don't get it , you will need to let me know if it is as great as everyone seems to think.

  2. I don't get it either! It's the weirdest thing. I signed up, but I haven't really been keeping it up. I was totally sucked in by all the cute little twitter birds too. :)

  4. I don't get it either. I am watching the Oprah show (tivoed)right now but it does seem like FB except for the photos. Are you going to tweet?

  5. I'm a tweeter but not super active and I can't find a cute widget like yours to link folks to my tweeter? What I like is that if you are out and about you simply send a text to a digit and it posts your updates. I don't have the updates going to my cell though. I'm a sucker for all these new social applications, lol. hugs from Conroe, TX!

  6. Eeeeh. Don't hold your breath. Personally...I don't really care about teensy tweets. Sorry, but I don't hang onto your every breath/word/thought.....even though you think I might.

    Nope. Not into it.

  7. I have an account but I often forget to update it. I just don't really get it. Facebook is more than enough for me.

  8. I'm a tweeter. For me, Facebook is WAY too much info. Twitter is much more manageable. I do think "getting it" or not has a lot to do with who you're following. I am lucky enough to have friends who write really hysterical things. But I've looked over the shoulder at other people's accounts whose friends aren't saying much more than "...going to the grocery store." In which case, yeah. Not so much fun.

  10. i didn't get it at first either, but now i tweet, and i like it because it's like a combination between msn messenger (remember that??) and facebook. I hate it when people update their facebook status too frequently, but with twitter, that's the whole point :)

  11. i don't have twitter. i've been thinking about getting it since i've been reading about this fun ashton tweets - but i don't really think anyone would follow me. so i'm holding out. plus, on facebook i'm irritated with constant status updates - and it seems like that's what it would be. i mean, unless it was a fun tweet like ashton's...

  12. Not me. It creeps me out. It's just too much. There are very few people in this world if any, that are interesting enough to want to have constant updates on. I know I'm not.

Isn't it enough that I'm blogging?

  13. I joined it, but that is where it ended. Honestly, I am too big a bore to bother anyone with the minutiae of my day. Because if I were to write it down, hour by hour, it would look really pathetic. Also, you end up getting a lot of marketers asking you to follow which is just as annoying as telemarketers.

Of course, I don't get it either, so that may be the problem...
As it is, I am probably sending my readers away in droves with the boredom of my blog lately!

    Maybe I am just too old...at thirty-eight!

  15. I don't tweet, nor care to. I just don't see the point in everyone knowing what you're doing all the time....Weird.

  19. Hi - thanks for dropping by! You should order the Drexel table again - it is quite lovely. We got it for about $600 off the retail price as the store was having a big recession sale! We still paid quite a lot - I really love it now.

I do not twitter but wonder what I am missing. Blogging satisfies my need to waste time...

  21. I don't get it either...it always annoys me when people's Facebook pages say stupid stuff like "on the toilet", "finishing up", etc., etc. There's some things in life don't need to be shared, and some people just have way too much time on their hands. Twitter takes that to the infinite level.

  22. no, but i understand your confusion...and i'm way younger than oprah! even younger than ashton! let us know if you figure it out!
