Cheers to the happy couple.

My guess is that everyone has had their fill of the royal wedding by now. I'm certainly happy to not have to see the countdowns or the great tiara debate anymore. That said, I couldn't help but take advantage of such a fun occassion to have a few friends over to watch the highlights on Saturday. We put on terrible British accents while munching on fish & chips followed by serious tea sipping while debating the merits of Kate's classic dress.

Since Ive just started my new job, I didn't have time to go all crazy with the details as I usually do. I got some red and blue flowers, printed some bingo cards found online and stocked the house with UK imported beer and nibbles. A fun time was had by all.

Did you do anything special to commemorate the occasion?

Got up early to watch the wedding before work…wore my sparkly Union Jack t-shirt all day, along with my crown earrings, both purchased on a trip to London several years ago.

  4. I love Flake!! I lived in Oxford one summer in college and gained 10 lbs just from those things! Such a cute idea! I didn't do anything special, but I did wake up at 4:30 am Friday morning to watch!

I was in front of the tube, and watched the wedding while eating my homemade scone and seepin English breakfast tea. It was lovely to do this in my pajamas!

  6. I love flake and are those chocolate covered hobnobs?!!! Serious weakness for those. Didn't do anything to commemorate other than get up at 6 a.m. in time to see Kate get out of the car at Westminster!

  8. The hubs and I spend Friday night watching it. Can't believe I convinced him to watch it with me! Love the flowers you chose. Funny how cheapie carnations can look so modern when grouped together in a short vase! Love Flakes, too. Yummmm...

  11. What fun! I would have loved to have a watching party with some friends. As it was I had a watching party with my cat. He was unimpressed. But I thoroughly enjoyed the wedding and her dress. Everything was stunningly beautiful! Thanks for sharing what you did!

You picked the best british treats for your tea party! We, of course, originally being from England, celebrated in grand style. Just not at 4 in the morning. We hosted a party in the evening with traditional retro british fare. Check out my post. It was all tongue in cheek of course.

  15. Since I am Swedish, but now live in the US, I had to make a big thing about 'our' royals in Europe. Especially little William who is the same age as I am. I have been following him since I wa a kid. I stayed up allllllllllll night long and watched the whole thing (pacific time). I drank wine and shouted a lot of "oh, look at the dress", and "oh isn't she cute". All to my hubby's dispare. :)
