You might remember I had a slightly different layout for this space. The main reason I moved things around was because it just felt more spacious in here with the larger pieces of furniture on the left hand side vs. the right. To refresh your memory, here was the original design (read all about it here)
That change meant a few others fell into place as well like nixing the picture molding and changing up the art but I'm still really pleased with how it turned out.
Rewind just a year and this is what the room looked like.
Or going way back to 2007, it was a hot mess.
Naturally I have one or two small touches I'd like to add in here (isn't that always the way?) but I'll do those as I have free time. Hahahahaha. Free time seems like such a joke right now.
Now if only we could get Agatha to sleep at night and then we could really pat ourselves on the back :)

ReplyDeleteThis is one of the cutest nurseries I have ever seen! And it is original! Well done! I did wonder why you chose a turquoise chair rather than the orange shown in your original drawing? I like the change-up, but wondered your thinking behind the new choice. I aim to do a couple of blogs soon on two nurseries as my daughter and daughter-in-law are each awaiting babies.

I'd love to know where you got the frames for the prints and what size you have the prints at. I remember you posting about them before and I've been thinking of doing my own version but am not sure about the size.

My baby (ahem, *toddler*) is in a room about the same size (our floor space is even smaller than the dimensions you gave earlier, but we do have a closet), so I completely understand the challenges. While I definitely appreciate the closet, I am SO envious of your space for a chair. We only have space for a tall, narrow dresser and a small crib (now small toddler bed). If I'm not mistaken, you mentioned earlier that your walls are plaster. I'd love to know what you use to hang things – especially those book shelves. We're ancient plaster around here too, and have the hardest time hanging things without the wall crumbling!

ReplyDeleteI really love the colors you used. On thing about parenthood is you will get lots of unsolicited advice. But a good tip a mother of 5 once gave me was getting my baby acquainted with Day and Night. I was keeping the house like a dimly light cave 24/7 and once I heard this an made the changes he picked up on it and started to change his sleeping habits. My son is almost one and sleeps through the night, she'll get there. Eventually!
