Shore Living Room Halfway There

The shore living room is coming along.  The big sideboard that will become the entertainment center is in place.  I know it doesn't look in bad shape but it has a lot of surface gouges as well as some more substantial top damage so it needs a makeover.  Art and window treatments are still up in the air and badly needed...but at least it's a relaxing place to hang now.  Just have to get it that final mile.

Anyone else have trouble concentrating on decor when the summer sun is just outside the door?

Suggestions for improvement?

  1. I think large format versions of your travel photos would be gorgeous.

  2. a large world map with pins of all of the places you've been would be awesome. then you could have a gold thread connecting them all to a pin of your home city......

  3. Woven baskets under the coffee table for texture and to store toys/blankets. Series of 8 black and white photos above the couch of shells, lighthouse, pier columns, waves, crabs, etc.

    1. Good point on the baskets. I definitely need some open storage for toys! (You don't see the big pile in the corner.)

  4. So pretty! The room is coming together nicely. I would suggest creating a gallery wall around the TV; and perhaps add a dramatic Twiggy Chandelier?

    1. Thanks for reading Christine. The color in this room is Glidden's granite grey. Hope that helps!
