Favorite Things 2015

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.....ok, you get it already. Melissa of 320 Sycamore invited me to share some obsessions favorite things for 2015 along with a great group of stylish bloggers so here we are.  I know I'm wracking my brain for Christmas gift inspiration right about now so I can't wait to see all of the lists.  Hope my favorites can help spark some gift giving inspiration for you.

This little number has been so perfect this fall while the temps were chilly but not cold.  The cut and colors are classic and it pairs so beautifully with boots and scarves.  I'll be sad to pack it away when the temps dip.

While a proper bar cart isn't in the cards for us right now (hello toddler temptation!), I did give in to my cart obsession with this little green industrial version.  It's been great for the odd job like serving as a hot cider bar, a BBQ side buffet, displaying party goody bags - both inside and out and has great character without being precious.

A wooden crate is the answer to so many of life's problems.  Too many shoes in the hallway?  Make a shoe crate!  Too many toys all over the place?  Make a toy crate!  Need an unexpected way to present a gift?  Crate me!  Paint them, put wheels on them, stack them high. You get the idea.  I really can never have too many crates.

As you can imagine, keeping a manicure for more than 5 minutes while working on one DIY project or another is pretty much impossible. That was until I found CND Vinylux nail polish.  It's easier to put on than regular polish (no base coat!) and lasts a solid week without touch ups. If I throw on another coat a top coat a few days in, it will last close to 2 weeks. Life changing! I've tried some of the other polishes that make the same claim and while they work okay, I've yet to find anything that works as well.

I've admired these in other people's yards for so many years but we finally hung some this year and I LOVE THEM HARD!  I have no idea why I waited so long but I feel like its a special occasion every time I turn them on.  Worth every bead of sweat that went into hanging them and now that it gets dark out so early, we are really getting our money's worth.

I've always been fascinated with taxidermy but I've been super obsessed with antlers lately.  Neutral colors, organic shape and affordable, they serve as such a great decorative accent. (Yes, I've stalked a few ebay sales to get the real deal but those you with better access to antlers should go out and scavenge!)

So there you go - my favorites of 2015.  I'd love to hear your thoughts or better yet, your favorite finds of the year so I can get my Christmas shopping all wrapped up early.

  1. Love the tip on the nail polish! Belitae's - Organic Vitamin C Serum for Face is definitely on my 2015 "must have" list. You know...I'm not getting any younger, but this stuff helps to at least to disguise that fact, and it TOTALLY reasonably priced. From my "list" to yours...;)
