New Year's Giveaway

Welcome 2011. (It feels weird to type that. It looks so futuristic even though its the present. Am I aging myself?) I hope everyone had amazing holiday weekends. We did very little except loafing around - a nice rest up to get in gear for the year ahead.

MeekerAvenueFleaMarketTypewriter3

To start the year off right, I want to make a tradition out of a giveaway I did last New Years. Essentially a thanks to all of you who take time out of your busy days to pop over and see what's happening here at Brooklyn Limestone. Whether you are a guest contributor, frequent commenter, someone who emails me privately or just a lurker, you have a special place in my heart. There are few things quite as motivating as being cheered on by you. So a huge thank you is deserved.

But enough of that - let's get down to the goodies shall we? Since this is a personal, I wanted to give away something personal too: My Photographs!

The prize:
The winner will be able to choose 3 prints (any size up to 11x14) or 1 large poster print (up to 20x30) from the collection of photos I have for sale.

How to enter:
1. Visit my portfolio and then comment on this post with which photos you'd select and how you would use them.
2. Post about this giveaway on your blog and then leave the link in the comments.
3. Tweet about this giveaway on twitter and then leave a link in the comments.

Enter as often as you like. Please be sure to include a way to get in touch with you in your entry.

  2. Somehow my first comment didn't work, Here is goes again! I would love the typewriter photo from your Objects of Affection collection OR the old camera photo to put in our newly re-designed games/tv room!

  3. Loving this giveaway. I'd put the Russian dolls with the cyclone and add the cute London double Decker bus with the tea service. What a beautiful wall that would make.

  4. how funny. I just spent time looking through all your photos this weekend. And I am also swooning over the shades of light drum shades. I would love one of the London prints along with the typewriter and cameras for our big photo wall in our family room. So beautiful.

  8. Since I've never been to Rome, I'd love any of the pictures from that collection. We need some art for the guest room and these would be great, the black and whites especially 1-4, 14, 15. Or South Africa! Every room needs a little wild print, right?

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  9. I don't know if I would do one big one of the women in the boats from Bangkok or three smaller ones including the bird cages from Hong Kong, the stackable dolls from Moscow and the turquoise boat house from Cambodia. One of the things on my bucketlist is to travel to Thailand and the first would inspire me to go every time I looked at it! But I am starting a new job this year and I need a few pictures to put in my hole-of-an-office that doesn't have any windows and could use some color, so the three pictures would be great for that!

  10. I love the Russian dolls, the fabric rolls in Hong Kong, and the water lilies in Cambodia. I would hang them in my dining room (which is STILL lacking artwork!).

  11. So many great photos to choose from, it makes this so hard. I would love ANY of your Brooklyn photos to add to our dining room photo wall. Is that cheating? :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'd love to get some of your Brooklyn pictures. My Grandpa grew up there before he moved to New Olreans and met my Grandma. I've never been, but the pictures always remind me of him.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Your photos are gorgeous...so hard to choose! I'd love a large scale of #18 from your Rome collection. I'm currently looking for art to spruce up the new place and I think this would be great in the family room.

Wishing you all the best in 2011 (and many more successful travels)!

  23. Oh boy; the options! Well, I do have a couple Coney Island prints already. The strong man, 2-headed monkey, & parachute drop would really round that "collection" out.

Or if I was feeling generous, I might go with 3 of your Alaska prints for my bro. He used to live there and is really missing it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love so many of your photos, I suppose I would narrow it down to the objects of affection's old cameras or south africas elephant for in my living room. I have been struggling with what to put there.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Lovely! I would choose #23 of 40 in your Brooklyn set. I love the starkness and the structural quality. And the red against the blue is very striking. I would have it as a poster print, frame it, and hang it in my studio.
Not yet of course... that part of the house is still under construction!

I'm checking from work on my lunch break and our firewall is blocking me from viewing your portfolio. But...I already know I'd pick something from your European travels to go with my own photos taken from when I lived in Germany. I'd like to put together a picture wall similar to Janell's (Isabella and Max) den.

    Happy New Year! :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'd pick the last photo in your Paris album and pair it with a couple of black and white photos from South Africa - these three photos would look fab hung above my white couch in my lavender colored room! I'll keep dreaming :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I LOVE your photo of the laundry in Venice (#8). What a great giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Okay, you know I adore you travel photographs! If I win I plan on bringing them with me to India to decorate my flat to be :) I plan on having a cork board or something where I can put up cards, letters, and photographs that I'll take - so I'd love to add some of yours to the mix. I'd definitely pick one from your Kenya set, another from your Cambodia set, and I'm torn as to where the 3rd would come from....either China or Venice :)

    Also tweeted.

  30. So excited about this giveaway! I've been stalking...(did I say that out loud?) your photos for awhile now. I love the subway/train photo...think it's the same one Janell @ Isabella and Max Rooms has in her hubbies office. I love how moody it is....it'd look prefect in my sons new bedroom. As for the other two pictures I'd want? I'll let you know.........I'm off to lose myself in your portfolio for awhile!! :)

  31. My favourite album is Kenya (so exotic) and #36 would look great on a bookshelf, but I really want Brooklyn #3 as I've been looking for a black and white water photo to hang in our main bathroom.

  74. My parents just took our family on a trip to Italy to visit friends that are stationed there in the military, and we especially loved Rome. I would choose the picture of the bulldog (to send as a happy to our friends in Italy who have a bulldog who is a piece of work), the picture of the trevi fountain (for my mom because that was her favorite thing in Rome. she was amazed at the massiveness of it in the small square.). I'd also choose the color beach print with the water in the background in your objects of affection. I grew up on the beach and it would be a wonderful reminder of home now that I'm landlocked and miss my toes in the sand sometimes. :]
    i absolutely love your work!

into really simple, raw wood frames and group them in a square to put in my baby's room.

    Just gorgeous. Great giveaway!

I would pick the swiss gaurd standing in an archway at the vatican (Rome, no. 20), The big sky-skyline shot of NYC (New York, no.2) and the baby elephant (Kenya, no.2). The baby elephant breaks a personal rule of only hanging up photos of places I have been, but he is too cute for words. Honeslty, what a once in a lifetime shot! I would hang them around my home!

I guess you could categorize me as a "lurker" - I have been reading your blog for almost a year!My favorite pics are from the Brooklyn series. The pops of color are mesmerizing!!! The Wonder Wheel in particular is by far my favorite!

  114. Awesome giveaway! You're such a talented photographer. I would probably choose photos from your trip to Kenya - those are far and away my favorites. Giraffe and elephant photos would look cute in my son's room (or even my living room!).

  116. All of your photos are just beautiful, I'd be happy to receive any number of them. But if I did win, I'd want the vertical antique camera shot to give to my parents. They both retired from Kodak and get a kick out of vintage cameras. It would hang by my dad's desk.

  117. Hands down, I want the hat and luggage photo from your London trip. I've drooled over it since I first found you last year. My husband is slowly decorating our bedroom with vintage men's hats and I think a poster print of that photo would just be the cat's pajamas. We could either hang it in the master bedroom to complement his small, but growing collection, or we could hang it in the en suite bathroom to pull the theme into that room.

I love your blog and your photos. Thanks for them both!

    Happy new year,
    J-

I love all of your pictures, but I would choose two from the "objects of affections" file-the picture of clocks and the picture of the pretty pink flower. The final picture would be a tough decision, but I think it would be between the elephants and giraffes.

  129. Your photography is so beautiful, and how wonderful to see places that I visited years ago. I particularly love the picture of the red double-decker bus tucked in amongst the floral ceramics from London, the photograph of the flowers with the beautiful petals on the ground outside the shop in Paris and the color photograph of Trevi fountain in Rome! If I happened to win the giveaway, I would mat and frame the photos and hang them in my living room. I have a large wall that I have left bare for 8 months now because I couldn't decide how to adorn them. I've now decided that I'm going to dress them up with photographs of the places I've been around the world that are taken by truly talented photographers!

  130. I desperately need artwork for my office, in which I spend most of my time. I would love to put up the Victor cash register, the single pink rose from the Objects of Affection collection and the paris flower shop picture with all the petals strewn on the sidewalk -- I am getting married Easter weekend in Paris, so it would be a wonderful and not too literal reminder! Close seconds are the Paris Poseidon (love the color) and the Boathouse at Prospect Park, where my cousin was married last year!

  131. Hi! I just learned of your blog within the last few weeks and I love it! My husband and I got engaged in Brooklyn so it has a very special place in our hearts. He's an architect and I'm an urban planner and we love all things city! I'm afraid I found your blog after most of your projects have been completed though, so I'll have to archive-lurk, I suppose. Ok, now on to business. I'd get a giraffe pic from Africa (can't decide which one), the one of the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Believe NYC one. (Of course, this is all subject to change once I get the hubby's opinion. We're a team these days.) I would decorate our apartment with them. Our guest room theme is Welcome Traveler for our visiting travelers and we decorated it with city/traveling images.

  132. I would love any of your travel pictures! They are photographed so well, especially the ones from your European travels! How wonderful it is that you are able to travel to all of these places!

  133. There are SO MANY wonderful options!! I really do love the photos of the cameras. Of course there are all those gorgeous travel photos as well. They would be great additions to the gallery in the hall.

Tough decision, but I love your Africa shots, so with that being said - I'd choose the single giraffe shot, the baby elephant and the triple lion shot. I would add them in our paneled study.

  137. I would love one of the China series pictures. My family and I travelled to China in 09 to meet our daughter. Your pictures are beautiful and bring out the beauty in the country. I would put the picture in my home to remind of us of such a wonderful experience. Also, it would be nice to have my daughter's country honored in my home.

  142. Fabulous giveaway! Your photography is breathtaking and captures moments in time. I would select out of the 'Objects of Affection'...#1 the cameras(for the love of photography and vintage collections) & #4 the b&w typewriter (b/c my dad always had one in his office); I would use them in an office. I would also pick #19, the salt & pepper shakers to use in the kitchen. Happy New Year!
